Glasgow Warriors' difficult week in France came to a wretched end as they were thrashed 36-10 by Toulouse on Tuesday night.

Bad weather meant Sean Lineen's men endured a 16-hour journey to Toulouse and, upon their arrival, they discovered their luggage had not arrived. That led to the game being postponed twice until the kit was located and delivered to the team.

The Warriors may now be wishing the kit had not been relocated as their hosts ran in five tries in a one-side contest to end the Scots' hopes in the Heineken Cup for another season.

Maxime Medard and Virgile Lacombe grabbed first-half tries for the hosts who led 14-3 at the interval.

DTH van der Merwe gave Glasgow a glimmer of hope early in the second half, but they were blown away by a clinical Toulouse outfit who added further scores through Clement Poitrenaud, Thierry Dusautoir and Vincent Clerc.

The visitors were booed and heckled from the off by Toulouse supporters angry with the game's previous postponements and the home side added to their woes with an explosive start.

Medard opened the scoring on 10 minutes with a fine individual try; the pacy winger stepping inside prop forward Moray Low with ease to race clear and score beneath the posts, David Skrela adding the conversion.

Colin Gregor came close to replying after a trademark Max Evans break, but Glasgow had to settle for three points after the scrum-half was dragged down just short of the line - Ruaridh Jackson kicking the subsequent penalty.

There was a spiky undercurrent to the game throughout and it threatened to boil over after 20 minutes with a mass brawl following a Toulouse penalty.

Richie Grey was sent to the sin-bin after being adjudged to have started the altercation and Toulouse took advantage to extend their advantage on the 23-minute mark when Lacombe went over after a powerful rolling maul, Skrela again adding the extras.

The visitors looked to have got themselves back into the match when Van der Merwe danced his way over after 45 minutes. The Canada international stepped inside Poitrenaud to score under the posts with Jackson converting the try to bring Glasgow within four points.

But Toulouse immediately struck back with a Skrela penalty before Poitrenaud made amends and raced clear to score a crucial try that Skrela expertly converted from the touchline.

And the European giants secured the all-important bonus-point try through Dusautoir on 65 minutes before Clerc rubbed salt into Glasgow's wounds.
