Leicester booked their regular place in the Aviva Premiership play-offs with a comfortable 35-16 bonus-point victory over Wasps at Welford Road.

The Tigers also look set for a home semi-final after this victory took them eight points clear of third-placed Harlequins.

Leicester dominated possession and territory, winning the contact battle and cutting through Wasps with far too much ease for the visitors' liking.

Toby Flood nudged Leicester ahead with two early penalties before England scrum-half Ben Youngs sniped over from a ruck a metre out for the first try.

The second try five minutes later was a thing of far greater beauty, a sweeping handling move started by Julian Salvi finished by Graham Kitchener in the corner like an oversized winger, putting his shoulder into Christian Wade and barging over.

Tommy Bell got Wasps on the board with a penalty but the one-way traffic continued as Leicester's rolling maul from a lineout drove Rob Hawkins over for the third try.

Bell's second penalty at least kept the scoreline respectable at the interval, but the game was as good as over three minutes into the second half.

Pressure

Leicester's pressure on the Wasps line was incessant, Tommy Bell was yellow-carded for a deliberate knock-on, and from the scrum in front of the posts, Jordan Crane scooped up the ball and sent Youngs in untouched for his second try.

Flood finally converted after missing his three earlier attempts and allowed himself an ironic celebration, but with the bonus point secured the celebrations in the crowd were for real.

Elliot Daly kicked Wasps' third penalty but Adam Thompstone scooted round in the corner for the fifth Leicester try just before the hour mark.

Daly produced a moment of sublime skill to finally get Wasps over the try-line, racing through a bemused Leicester defence from 20 metres out, as Leicester understandably cruised through the final quarter.
