Jose Mourinho got under Atletico Madrid's skin and now has Chelsea two wins from epic glory.
Wasps moved away from the foot of the Aviva Premiership table as Andy Goode inspired them to a 22-12 win over his former team Leicester.
The experienced fly-half kicked 17 points, including two crucial drop goals in the second half, while it was his quick thinking that created the only try of the game for Christian Wade.
Wasps even came through the second-half sin-binning of Carlo Festuccia unscathed as they registered just their second win in their last 13 league outings.
Owen Williams kicked four penalties for the visitors but the depleted Tigers were second best throughout a competitive contest, meaning they are still searching for their first victory at Adam's Park since September 2007.
Leicester simply had too many absentees and their replacements were not up to the task, despite the efforts of Thomas Waldrom in a pack that was without the services of Dan Cole, Geoff Parling and the Youngs brothers, Ben and Tom.
They had two early opportunities for points but Williams was wide with a straightforward penalty attempt and then didn't have either the accuracy or the distance with a poor effort from inside his own half.
Instead it was Wasps who broke the deadlock on nine minutes, Goode quickly taking a free kick to catch the visitors napping. He burst through the defence and and after the ball was recycled, Chris Bell's delightful pass set up Wade.
Goode, who has had two stints at Leicester in his career, converted but Williams reduced the arrears with his first successful penalty, leaving Wasps 7-3 ahead at the end of the first quarter.
A pair of penalties from the former no 10 for the Tigers cancelled out two more from the current one, so Wasps remained four points clear at half time.
Leicester exerted considerable pressure after the break, forcing Wasps to give away a plethora of penalties. Eventually their constant infringing was punished with a yellow card for hooker Festuccia.
Tigers declined kickable penalties in search of a try but they proved unable to make the most of the period with an extra man, either due to poor decision making by themselves or some stoic defence from their hosts.
Goode extended the gap with a brace of drop goals, helped in no small measure by the wind being at his back, although he proved unable to slot over a long-range penalty.
Williams kicked his fourth penalty with 12 minutes remaining but Goode responded by hammering over a huge three-pointer from inside his own half, depriving his ex employers even a losing bonus point.
