Sports Scholar Elise Christie is through to the quarter-finals of the 500m' 1000m and 1500m at the ISU World Cup event in Kolomna as she closes in on qualification for February's Winter Olympics in Sochi.
The Short Track speed skater came through the pre-preliminary and preliminary rounds comfortably in the 1000m on Friday before winning her heat to ensure progress to Sunday's quarter-finals.
Christie had already won through to the quarter-finals of the 500m and 1500m on Thursday. The Scottish skater won her 1500m heat and then turned her attention to the shorter distance.
Victories in the pre-preliminary and preliminary rounds put Christie into the heats and a second placed finish was enough to see her into the latter stages.
Christie is set to go in the 3000m relay heats for Great Britain later on Friday as the women's team look to qualify for the Games for the first time ever.
Saturday will see Christie bid to reach the finals of both 500m and 1500m before Sunday's 1000m, and possibly the 3000m relay, after which time an Olympic place may well be assured.
