Jessica Judd was named the junior women of the year at the BAWA awards in London to claim the Lillian Board Memorial Award.
The 18-year-old middle distance runner saw off some tough competition to pick up the prize for her performances in the 800m this season.
The Sports Scholar won at the European Team Championships in June before breaking the two minute mark to emerge victorious at the Diamond League meeting in Birmingham.
Elsewhere, Mo Farah and Christine Ohuruogu won the awards for athletes of the year following their gold medals at the World Championships in Russia.
Judd's fellow Scholar Jason Quigley is also up for an award having made the shortlist for RTE Sports-Person of the Year.
The boxer won silver at the AIBA World Boxing Championships and will compete against the likes of jockey AP McCoy and British and Irish Lions rugby star Jonathan Sexton to win the accolade.
