On New Year's Eve I was thinking about the year that's gone. I certainly learned a lot about myself and despite the frustrations of the last six months I'm ending the year in a good place.

The last few weeks of training have been going well. I'm still feeling good after returning from Dallas a month ago and, having missed the feeling of running fast for so long, it's been a lot of fun to test my speed out on the track.

I'm now progressing back to the tough sessions that I've missed. It's been a while since I've felt lactic acid in my legs so the next couple of weeks will be a shock to the system, but I'm looking forward to it!

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to spend a day with the other Scholars at Mercedes-Benz World which was great fun. It was good to swap an athletics track for a race circuit and have some fun driving some fast cars and getting to know everyone a bit better.

Now that Christmas is out the way I'm looking ahead to 2014 and I'm excited for what's in store.
