2014 has arrived and I had a short but great Christmas with the family in England.
Now though it's time to get my head down and concentrate on training up for my first race in early March.
As I am writing this I am sat with an amazing view in 20 degree heat - sorry to make you jealous! I am on my first training camp of the year, in Spain, for two weeks.
These two weeks will mainly include long endurance rides of around four or five hours as well as some short blocks of efforts. The sprint work and more specific training will come in the training camp in February.
It is also an exciting time for the team at the moment because we are now a new team called Team Giant Shimano. So everyone is really excited to receive their new bikes and kit ready to start the season.
I was lucky enough to fly back to Holland for the team presentation on the 13th to show off our new kit, bikes and sponsors.
But now I am back in Spain ready for the last few days of training.
