Jessica Judd: Returned to racing after a spell out injured

I am so happy to get back racing!

I have really enjoyed the past couple of weeks training and I’m really happy with my progress. I have raced twice this year, at the Inter Counties Cross Country Championships in Birmingham and at the Southern Road Relays in Milton Keynes.

These were my first races since the World Championships in Moscow so I was so excited to get back out there and racing.

The Inter Counties was really enjoyable; I missed all the other Cross Country races this year through injury so it was nice to be back wearing my Essex vest! I was so happy to finish sixth, 6000m is a long way to run for me so it was a really good learning curve.

Just getting back to race day preparation was nice and putting my cross country spikes on for the first time this year was brilliant.

The Southern Road Relays were really enjoyable and I loved racing on the road. It was really nice to put all my training into practice and I learnt a lot.

My next couple of races will be on the track, and I am so excited! I am going to America on May 1 for a training trip so I am looking forward to that, but at the moment I am focusing on my training here at Chelmsford with my great training group.

Everything is going well at the moment and I am really enjoying being back running.
