Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez has revealed his clash with WBO champion Liam Smith on September 17 is likely to be his last at super-welterweight.
The Mexican (47-1-1-KO33) takes on Liverpool's Smith (23-0-1-KO13) in Arlington, Texas, looking to regain a world title at 154lbs having won and defended the WBC middleweight crown in his last two bouts.
"We are thinking this is probably the last fight at 154lbs. But right now, we are only thinking of this fight," Canelo told FightHype.com.
"I feel comfortable and feel I make the weight good but I think I will feel much more comfortable moving up in weight class.
"The weight and dieting is always difficult but it won't complicate things for us. We are professionals and we will make the weight."
Alvarez has long been linked to a bout with WBA Super, WBC and IBF champion Gennady Golovkin, who faces Kell Brook at The O2 on September 10, live on Sky Sports Box Office.
