A new arrival

The Crew: blow off some steam

We thought we'd get him to do the Souljah Boy dance...in Steve's Borat costume and in the style of Cliff Richard! How does that sound!?

Quotes of the week

Well the big news this week is that we have a new recruit in the office.

James has joined the team and is now officially part of the Soccer AM crew.

This is great for two reasons, firstly because it should mean a little less work for all of us (we hope!) but secondly - and probably more importantly - he'll be the first member to have to go through an initiation and we're going to have some fun with this!

We've had loads of ideas already but haven't really been able to settle on one yet. James can dance a bit by all accounts so we thought we'd get him to do the Souljah Boy dance with a twist. The twist is doing the dance in Steve's Borat costume and in the style of Cliff Richard! How does that sound!?

No doubt as the week goes on we'll come up with even more ideas, but whatever we do we're sure he'll cope with it!

James is an Arsenal fan which hasn't gone down well with the Spurs boys in the office but that's not the biggest conflict that we can see arising as he also used to do a bit of modelling...cue fashion war with Baby Elvis!

Up to now Baby Elvis has been the most fashionable guy in the office, you know with the highlights and everything! But James could soon change that and Elvis looks worried.

It's been a pretty hectic couple of weeks for all of us so on Saturday it was time to blow off some steam. We all headed to the Orange Tree in Richmond for our Christmas dinner and half of us got to travel in style in a Limousine (limited numbers meant the rest couldn't!).

Our driver had left us out a lovely movie as well called Jamaican Pimp...the less said about that the better probably! Surprisingly the first part of our night wasn't too messy, although Colin nearly fell asleep at the table and Andy ate everyone else's orders after deciding he didn't fancy his own.

Steve turned up late as usual, but had a valid reason as he went home after the show to get changed because he was worried he stunk and even Saturday's Soccerette turned up to join in the festivities.

After the meal it was off for a "few" more drinks (this is where things started to turn messy) before we all headed off to see the Kaiser Chiefs and the Pigeon Detectives at Earls Court.

The Pigeon Detectives are officially our favourite new band after the Christmas special show and we got to go to the after party as their guests, which was pretty cool for those of us who could remember it!

Needless to say the rest of the night is a bit blurry so we won't be able to go into too many more details, although Tubes was spotted at 3am in a Kebab shop in Putney by Chris' brother!

See you next week!
