It takes all sports
Last updated: 18th April 2008
It's been more like an episode of Superstars than Soccer AM in the office this week, as various members of the crew have been getting very sporty.
First of all, James managed to complete the London Marathon in less than six hours and survived to tell the tale, despite almost having a heart attack when he was overtaken by a pair of rhinos.
He was also beaten by Sonic the Hedgehog, three Wombles and a Cornish pasty on his way to the finish line, but we're all dead impressed anyway. Well done James.
Thoughts now turn to this month's other major sporting event as the Soccer AM football team prepare to take on Forever Bury FC at Gigg Lane on Sunday afternoon.
We've signed up superstars like Peter Beagrie, David Thompson and Darren Campbell to our squad and we've even got our own custom-made kit, although if Lisa gets her way a couple of crew members won't be allowed to wear it.
She wants Baby Elvis to play in goal in his Elvis outfit and she wants Trev to don his Mark Battenburg costume for the game.
The boys have said they'll do it - but only if she puts on a bikini and wrestles with our very special Soccerette, WWE babe Kelly Kelly on Saturday's show. Well it's only fair...
Chris has also been getting into the sporting spirit as he hit the golf course with his mates on Sunday afternoon.
Unfortunately his performance was more Victoria Wood than Tiger Woods and his desperate attempts to put the ball anywhere near the green had the other players in stitches.
Chris decided enough was enough by the time he reached the second hole and stormed back to the clubhouse to book himself in for some golf lessons.
The other big news of the week is that Dave and Trev have finally got round to buying a kettle for their new flat.
Trev said things reached boiling point (or not) on Sunday morning when he woke up with a hangover and couldn't make a cup of tea - so he dragged himself to the supermarket to buy one.
It didn't occur to him that boiling some water in a saucepan would have the same effect; these old-fashioned methods don't hold much sway for 21st-century Trevor!
Meanwhile, Baby Elvis was the butt of a few jokes when he went out to a restaurant with some of the crew and failed to notice that Trev had polished off half his meal while he was in the toilets.
To cheer himself up he went out and got a few more highlights in his hair, so you may need to adjust the contrast on your telly on Saturday morning!
See you next week!
