Lisa: outside the Home Depot Centre!

The highlight of my holiday was meeting Drew Barrymore!

Quotes of the week

If you ever find yourself in Los Angles, go and see a LA Galaxy match because even though it doesn't really feel like a proper football match, it's great entertainment!

We've been off work for about five weeks now and it's been great, but the highlight was definitely going to LA for two weeks.

And while I was out there I thought I should visit the Home Depot Centre to see Becks and co. in action against Columbus Crew!

They drew 3-3 and Beckham missed an absolute sitter as well. It was so bad that he just fell to his knees and had his head in his hands for ages; he couldn't believe he had missed.

Aside from the match I've got to say I've never experienced anything like it. There's so much going on around the stadium and it's just like a massive party! There was a stage with loads of different DJ's and music blaring and the mascots were all walking around taking photos with fans like at Disneyland or something.

There were also all these Marines everywhere challenging people to do chin ups, it was all very weird and I guess very American, but it was fun.

There were also more women than I've ever seen at a football match in my life and they were all clearly there to see Beckham play because every time he touched the ball they screamed like they were at a boy band concert! I'd like to add that I wasn't one of them!

Away from football I went to Universal studios and spent a fair amount of time on the beach in Santa Monica and Venice, but the highlight of my holiday was meeting Drew Barrymore!

Well not exactly meet, but she was in the queue with me for a bar we were going to, called Sky bar bizarrely enough. Actually she sort of queue jumped ahead of us and we were like 'who's that!?'

We also stumbled across the cast of Entourage, while they were filming a scene in Hollywood which was pretty exciting. I tried to get a picture of them as we drove passed, but I'd make a rubbish paparazzo because I barely got them in frame.

That was about as far as my celeb spotting went although I did see Curtis Davis just randomly walking by in Hollywood with his girlfriend, which was a bit surreal.

I had to double take to make sure it was him but he stopped and we had a little chat.

He was on the show last year so we had spoken before and he said he remembered me because apparently I took the Mickey out of his jumper when he was on, but I really don't remember that!

It was a brilliant holiday overall and I've even been converted into a bit of basketball fan after watching a few LA Lakers games, while I was out there, but football (not soccer) will always be number one!
