Paying the penalty
Last updated: 05th March 2009
Dave and Trev decided it was time to pay someone to fix their bathroom light, which hasn't been working since last year. (This might also go some way to explaining how Trev slipped in the bath and smashed his head on the sink a few weeks ago).

Over the last year Trev and Dave have featured quite a bit in the Office Blog because they always seem to have the best stories.
The pair moved in together last February and have been entertaining us ever since with their shenanigans. Unfortunately that's all about to end!
Dave has decided to shack up with his girlfriend instead and will be moving out next month, and the pair admitted that the time was right for them to part ways.
"We do see a bit too much of each other with work and living together," said Dave.
"We could do with a bit of distance to be honest," added Trev sombrely.
To help pay for his new place, Dave has decided to start bringing sandwiches into work. With the prices in the canteen we reckon he could save up to about £5k a year!
Unfortunately, unless his girlfriend is feeling kind, he will have to make them himself, unlike Baby Elvis who has his mum to do it for him!
Meanwhile, Dave and Trev decided it was time to pay someone to fix their bathroom light, which hasn't been working since last year. (This might also go some way to explaining how Trev slipped in the bath and smashed his head on the sink a few weeks ago).
"We checked the bulb and it wasn't that, then the switch and that seemed fine, and then I even checked the fuse box," said Dave.
"We were stumped, so decided to call someone about it, albeit five months later."
The other big news in the office concerns a tense cup game which went to a penalty shootout... we are of course talking about Wearside Rangers' semi-final on Saturday.
Captain and manager on the day, Steve, was the culprit of the piece, after missing two penalties, one in normal time and then the decisive fifth penalty in the shootout.
"I really didn't fancy taking one," he told us. "So I decided to go fifth in the hope that it would all be over by then." There's logic in there somewhere...
Things got worse for him on Sunday, after he had to relive his own penalty shootout heartache, while watching Spurs lose to Man Utd in the Carling Cup final.
He wasn't the only crew member to leave Wembley with his head in hands though, with half the office at the game, and Lisa admitted she felt 'physically sick' during the penalties. Nice!
See you on Saturday!
