Best foot forward
Last updated: 10th March 2009
Simon turned down two tickets for Everton's FA Cup quarter final against Middlesbrough. The reason? He couldn't find a cat-sitter. We hear the decision left him feline blue.

Quotes of the week
Baby Elvis has decided to put his best foot forward and come back to work at last.
On Tuesday morning he hobbled back into the office on his crutches after having been off for a week due to a foot injury playing football.
He told everybody how he watched the show from home on Saturday - apart from the first 40 minutes as he decided to have a lie-in. How arrogant is that?
He may not have made it to work for a week, but he still went out for dinner that night (chicken, no doubt) and although he only needs one sock at the moment, he doesn't seem to want to wear his own.
Bizarrely he came in wearing his dad's socks, which have got the message "Best Dad In The World" written on them.
At least, we assume they're his dad's socks (either that or there's something he and Tilly aren't telling us).
Unlike Baby Elvis, Steve is fighting fit and got a monkey off his back by scoring a penalty for Wearside Rangers at the weekend.
As reported in this blog, Steve missed two spot-kicks in one game last week, but with his team 4-1 down with 20 minutes to play, he was asked to step up again.
Just as he was about to take it, the opposing captain shouted "don't worry lads, he missed two last week". Obviously he's a Soccer AM viewer!
Steve scored - but they still lost 4-2.
Compare
Speaking of feeling clever, we've decided to test the whole office to find out who has the highest IQ.
Dev read at the weekend that Frank Lampard has one of the highest IQ's in football and we want to see how we compare.
Bobbie is surprisingly confident of doing well in our test, despite some poor form in this area.
As you'll have read in the blog a few weeks ago, Bobbie was once the first person to be voted off on an episode of The Weakest Link, but he now insists: "I'm confident in my own ability, I didn't hear Anne's question."
We'll see Bobbie, we'll see...
So there are some big tests to come this week, but several of the crew had testing weekends as well.
Not least Trev. After being rocked by the news that Dave is leaving him (see last week's blog), he has now had to come to terms with the revelation that his other flat mate is also packing his bags.
"Everyone who ever gets close to me ends up leaving," Trev was heard to utter, in between sobs.
Meanwhile, Simon was forced to turn down two tickets for Everton's FA Cup quarter final against Middlesbrough.
The reason for the snub? He couldn't find a cat-sitter. We hear the decision left him feline blue all weekend.
And finally poor old Tubes lost his mobile phone at the weekend. Someone, somewhere, has a phone full of stars at their fingertips - and they might not even know it.
Hopefully Tubes will be cheered up by the fact his brother, Big Ange, is helping out in the office this week.
We're thinking of ways to stitch up the Brothers Grim on Saturday's show - so keep watching!
Until then...
