Mixing it up

If Vin Diesel goes wrong Big Ange may have to fill in...

Last updated: 19th March 2009

Mixing it up
On Friday I'm going to interview Vin Diesel! It's my first junket in a while so I hope I'm not too rusty. He's also a pretty big unit so I won't be making too many jokes at his expense otherwise Big Ange will have to fill in for me on Saturday!

Quotes of the week

Even tried and tested acts need to be mixed up every now and again, which is why on Saturday I decided to get my little brother involved with my one question.

Andy, or 'Big Ange' as he is known, is doing some work experience with us at the moment and I thought the time was right to have my first on screen collaboration!

We did a little rap for Kano before I asked him a question and Big Ange was a natural. He's around this week as well, but we haven't decided if I'll be flying solo or doing another duet yet... watch this space!

It's great having football to look forward to straight after the show every weekend, but it wasn't a particularly good game this week. We lost 3-2 and I think that is that for us in terms of the league title, which is a shame but not the end of the world.

Thankfully Chelsea put in a better performance on Sunday when I went to see them beat Man City 1-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Comfortable

Since Guus Hiddink took over we've won six games and drawn just one, and it was another good performance. The scoreline probably didn't reflect the match, because it was pretty comfortable.

Michael Essien got the only goal of the game and he was absolutely superb again. After being out injured for the best part of six months you would forgive him if he needed a few games to find his feet again, but he has slotted in like he's never been away.

I think that is probably what separates the really good players and the world class ones and there is no doubt that he is up there alongside John Terry and Frank Lampard in terms of his importance to the club.

Hopefully we can continue this run of form until the end of the season now because there's still loads to play for and none more so than the Champions League.

Exciting

The quarter final draw is on Friday and I'm pretty excited about it. I just hope it's not an English side. I think it would be great if all the Premier League clubs could avoid each other and get into the semi-finals.

Barcelona have been brilliant this season but I don't think there's much point in fearing any team at this stage because, the fact is, if you want to win the Champions League you will have to play the best teams at some point.

Friday is turning out to be a pretty exciting day because as well as the draw I'm going to interview Vin Diesel!

Tubes answers your questions

Tubes you got your dance moves off me! Me & Sydney are the dancers in the family. Our moves have rubbed off on you over the years Chris Dale

TUBES SAYS:How are you my long lost cousin?! You've seen my moves in the Dance Off, so if I've learnt them all off you I don't think there is much hope for either of us!

Your name is Tubes, sometimes think your lyrics are sicker than frubes... ahhhhhh fromage fray. I've got longish hair and am thinking of getting it cut short, what do I do? With love.Jason Brown

TUBES SAYS:Brilliant rap Jason! To answer your question I think you should go really Bundesliga with your hair! I'm thinking Rudi Voller, but with shaved sides just to update it a bit. Whatever you decide shorter hair is the way to go with the summer around the corner. I've just got mine cut a bit shorter as well because let's be honest, sweaty mop just isn't a good look!

Will United win all five.Craig English

TUBES SAYS:A man of few words Craig? No I don't think Manchester United will win all five this season, because if nothing else, the FA Cup has Chelsea's name all over it. Even though they've been the best team in England so far this season I just can't see them doing it.

If you were to support a Scottish football team, who would it be and why?Martin Smith

TUBES SAYS:Hi Martin, if I was to support a Scottish team it would be Kilmarnock because of one player, Mehdi Taouil. He produced the best showboat I've ever seen and I would definitely pay to see him play.
