Strike it lucky

Six strikes in a row... not bad for an amateur!

Strike it lucky

I'm sure I'm not going to shock anyone when I say Alistair McGowan is a very funny man!

He came on the show with Ronni Ancona on Saturday and his accents were brilliant, but I guess they have to be when you make a living from doing impersonations.

He was really passionate about his football too which was good to see, although I'm not sure I would ever even contemplate trying to give it up for a year like he did - I wouldn't last a week!

Not being able to follow football would be absolute torture and I don't think I could go without playing on Saturdays either.

I had a few injuries last year, but so far so good this season. Weirside are doing pretty well in the league and on Saturday we won our first cup game of the season.

I have to admit I didn't have the best game in the world, but we won and that was the main thing. Steve bagged one of the goals and new boy Ashley claims he got one too, but in truth it was an own goal!

I'd like to give it to him but the fact is one the defenders smashed Ashley's shot into his own net! He could take it to the 'dubious goals panel' but I think they would laugh him out of their office... if they even have an office!

Steak

Anyway, it was a fine win so on Saturday night I decided to treat myself and my girlfriend with dinner at Gaucho on Charlotte Street.

Naturally I had the steak and it was out of this world. Words really can't do it justice, and I have to thank my mate Matt Ford who came up trumps for me again by sorting it all out.

To burn off the steak - and the beers that went with it - I went bowling on Sunday. Baby Elvis has been telling everyone how good he is but I reckon I could give him a run for his money if my first game in about six years is anything to go by.

Pro

In fact, with a bit of practise I reckon I could turn pro because I got six strikes in my first six balls! Clearly there was a bit of beginners luck in there, but I reckon most people would be happy with that!

As the new sporty me was on a bit of a roll I decided to give badminton a whirl on Monday too ... but if I'm honest I should have quit while I was ahead.

I didn't realise it would be such a work out. I've been walking around like a 78-year-old man ever since! It must have been all the lunges!

Have you got one question and one question only for Tubes!? Ask the lyrical genius anything you want in the comments section below and he'll answer the best ones next week!

Tubes answers your questions

Tubes you're a top bloke but what I want to know is, what celeb really had you sweating, it was a big time actor I'm betting... ooh doner kebab.Phily Burns(Arsenal fan).

Tubes replies: Definitely Ray Winstone. It started off alright. I went in and said hello and it was all going fine. Things went downhill after I did my rap! I can't repeat exactly what he said for obvious reasons but it was along the lines of 'I could be at home with my kids rather than listening to you!'

TUBBEEEESSSS!!!! If you could pick any girl to have, who would it be... and why?Michael Jordan (Arsenal fan).

Tubes replies: Well for starters Michael women aren't objects to have! But if I had to pick it would come down to two. Carmen Electra, because I pretty much fell in love with her five minutes into a junket. And Alesha Dixon because she's just cool.

Are you going to create an iPhone app with your lyrical genius raps on Peter Ward (Manchester United fan).

Tubes replies: Peter I struggle to use Google most days so I haven't got a clue about iPhone apps!

Me and my mate saw you i got out my iphone and loaded a youtube video of tubes 09 best raps, it had no volume :( so now it was too late to say oioi its tubes or anything which was poor form. On the way home we were thinking of raps to say and everything. At college some people call me tubes because my hair is like yours. In a few weeks we are going to upload a video of me doing a rap for you, hopefully it will make the show. Anyway tubes your a legend keep doing what your doing. james
