Not shore about that
What's wrong with a smart polo t-shirt!
Last updated: 13th March 2010
I went to Shoreditch on Sunday and I have to say what a bizarre place!
Don't get me wrong the people are nice and everything, but I've only ever ventured there for a night out - it's a completely different place in the harsh light of the day!
I guess I'm a bit old school, but I like proper pubs which serve pints but the closest thing I could find was a café/bar - and they only sold bottles.
To make matters worse we went in there to watch Chelsea play Stoke in the FA Cup, but everyone else seemed more interested in the table football!
I don't think I've ever seen as many pointy shoes or colourful jumpers in one room either. For a second I thought I'd got my days mixed up and it was actually carnival day.
Even my mate who's just moved up there rocked up in lovely knitted number right out of Rainbow! Maybe I'm a bit of a country bumpkin but whatever happened to a nice polo t-shirt, jeans and white trainers?
Tight
On the plus side it was good to see the team get back to winning ways and hopefully they can take that form into their league fixtures, because things are getting tight at the top.
I guess the only disappointing thing was seeing Joe Cole warming the bench again. He is one of the most talented footballers in the country in my eyes and there aren't a lot of players that can do what he does.
If I was a manager he'd be one of the first names down on my team sheet every week, but that's just me.
Hopefully he'll get a run out against West Ham on Saturday because that is a massive game, and one we have to win.
Mother's Day
I'm glad it hasn't fallen on Sunday because otherwise I'd have to cancel Mother's Day! Being the good son that I am though, I've decided to take my mum out for dinner as it doesn't clash with any football.
I would cook for her, but I only know how to make one thing and that's my seafood pasta. That said I've taken it to a new level by adding mussels and clams and stuff instead of just prawns... proper tasty!
Anyway, all this talk of food is making me hungry so I'm off to get some lunch!
Later,
