Past Cat in a Fash

Fashanu and the Fat Cat

A suited and booted John Fashanu stepped into the Soccer AM car park on Christmas day in 2000 to take on the Fat Cat from the penalty spot.

What was to follow was a Christmas miracle as the man between the posts put off the ex-Wimbledon striker enough to make him miss!

Not one to take defeat lying down, Fash stepped up to the spot again and even offered to give £100 to charity if he missed a second time.

The former Gladiators presenter was a cool as a cucumber as he slotted home his second attempt but was no doubt screaming awooga on the inside as the ball hit the back of the net!
