Tennis ace, Andy Murray, popped into the Soccer AM studio on Saturday morning and revealed he and Tim Henman are still friends, despite Henman's comments this week.

The former British number one - who will join the BBC Wimbledon commentary team this summer after retiring from the sport - described Murray as a 'miserable git' and said his successor to the British number one tag would have to improve his temperament if he ever wants to win Wimbledon.

But Murray told Andy and Helen that there was no rift between himself and Henman:

"It's funny because I spoke to him about a week ago," explained Murray. "I speak to him every couple of weeks on the phone and then he text me saying ' sorry if I've caused you any extra aggravation by calling you a miserable git'!

"I text him back and said 'there's no problem telling the truth'! So it wasn't really a problem.

Murray turned 21 on Thursday, but had to endure the heartache of defeat on his birthday after crashing out of the Hamburg Masters at the hands of Rafael Nadal.

But the young Scotsman was philosophical about his defeat and admitted it would have taken a mammoth effort for him to defeat the world's number one player on clay.

"It's quite nice in some ways because pretty much every other match you play, you're expected to win so it's nice to go out on court sometimes without the pressure of having to win the match.

"But it was a pretty tough ask against someone like him because he's won something like 102 out of a 103 clay courts matches in the last three years."
