The Low-down: An alternative to the controversial snood which detaches and comes away from the neck if tugged by an opponent.

Where's the Tech? Fifa's decision to ban the snood for safety reasons didn't go down too well amongst its fans, but here comes an alternative. The developers say: "'Tuggz' has been expertly streamlined so it is more difficult to grip. If however, another player is successful in taking hold, the garment's multi-stress 'Tugg-points' will cause the 'Tuggz' to detach and come away from the neck, without the risk of choking." I think we can all agree that's only a good thing...

The Low-down: An eco friendly football which captures energy during game play and can then be used to light a lamp!

Where's the Tech? Developed by a team of engineering students at Harvard University, the sOccket football captures energy during game play to charge LEDs and batteries. According to the developer 15 minutes of play can light three hours of LED light. Impressive stuff indeed!
