Wolverhampton Wolves rider Tai popped into the studio ahead of Sunday's Elite League Riders Championships, on Sky Sports 2 at 6pm, to show off his (stationary) bike and explain how he got into speedway.
"I used to ride motocross and I went to a mate's house and he had some bikes tucked away in the corner and I just fancied a new challenge. I was 12," said Tai, who brought in some signed goggles.
Eleven years on he became World Champion. So how did that feel?
"It was amazing," Tai admitted. "I was 500-1 at the bookies in January and not very many people believed in me but I had a lot of fans who did and I wanted to make them all proud.
"I focused and trained as hard as I could and made sure that it was a season to remember. As the season went on it just got better and better and I was feeling more confident and one thing led to another."
