Tottenham defender Chris Gunter expects former Cardiff team-mate Aaron Ramsey to take the Premier League by storm sooner rather than later.

17-year-old Ramsey has been in fantastic form for Cardiff this season and has been linked with a big-money move to Manchester United.

A number of other top-flight teams are understood to be interested and Gunter believes he would have no problem forcing his way into any side.

"Aaron has a decision to make but whichever club he goes to, he is going to improve and at his age that is what he needs to do," said fellow teenager Gunter, who joined Spurs in the January transfer window.

"In terms of the young players I have worked with, he is the best I have seen and if he was at Spurs he would be very close to the first team.

Capable

"I have known him since he was nine and he has always played above his age group and not looked out of place.

"If he does make the move to the Premier League I do not think it will be long before he is playing week in and week out, because he is the sort of player who is capable of achieving anything he wants to."

Gunter feels that Ramsey possesses a number of qualities that will serve him well at the top level.

He explained: "He may not be the quickest of players but he has great awareness, he never loses the ball and he always tends to make the right decisions, which at his age is amazing.

"He is a quiet lad and a little bit shy but he does not let himself get carried away by anything and very little fazes him.

"He made his Cardiff debut when he was still at school and I am sure if he steps up next season he will be a great success."
