Sunderland defender Danny Higginbotham insists the club will survive relegation if the team 'play like we have been'.

Roy Keane's men are two points clear of relegation at the moment, but they are yet to record an away victory all season and failed to win at bottom-club Derby on Saturday despite having the majority of the chances.

But while it is clear that taking just three points from their travels since returning to the top flight is not good enough, Higginbotham believes that Sunderland's home form will save them.

"The table changes from week to week, but we have the belief we will be okay," he told the Sunderland Echo.

"We have to keep going and play like we have been.

"We have got a home game against Everton next and our attention has to be on that now.

"It will be difficult, as every Premier League game is, but, the way we have been playing at home, I see no reason why we can't go into the games full of confidence."
