Norwich City manager Glenn Roeder could not hide his frustration as his side were held to a goalless draw by visitors Leicester.

The in-form Canaries dominated the match virtually from start to finish, hit the woodwork twice, and created numerous other chances.

Yet all they had to show for their efforts was a point and although the result stretched Norwich's unbeaten league record to nine matches, Roeder was far from pleased afterwards.

"That has got to be the most one-sided 0-0 draw I have ever been involved in", noted Roeder.

Unlucky

"We had so many chances to win that it was ridiculous and although we were unlucky with the two efforts that came back off of the woodwork we had lots of other opportunities to win the game.

"We are not putting our chances away and that is something we have got to address. We work on it hard in training all the time but for some reason the ball isn't going into the net during matches.

"We had a bit of bad luck today as well with the officials, which is also very frustrating. I'm not going to start criticising them too much because they are only human, and human beings make mistakes.

"But we had one effort ruled out early on which was clearly onside while there were also a couple of penalty decisions which could have gone our way.

"It's very frustrating because if we'd taken a few more of the chances we have been creating recently we would have propelled ourselves much higher up the table", said Roeder.

"As it is we are just five points above the bottom three and whilst that's a tremendous achievement from where we were it could have been a whole lot better."

Roeder revealed that he was searching for new blood to improve his side's indifferent strike rate.

"It's something we're working on all the time and if it goes to midnight on January 31st then so be it", added Roeder.

"I was very close to getting a player on loan for this match but he rang me back to say he wouldn't be coming on Friday.

"He seems to be content to be training from Monday to Friday and then putting his feet up at the weekend and if that's what he wants from football then so be it."

Roeder was quick to explain the surprise absence of Norwich talisman Darren Huckerby who did not even make the 16 today.

"Darren has a slight hip problem which needs to be looked at next week by the surgeon", he said.

"He might need another jab in it to improve things because I think recently everyone can see that we haven't been getting the best out of him."

Leicester manager Ian Holloway conceded his side had been lucky to escape with a point.

"I'll certainly take that point and put it in my top pocket", said Holloway.

"I thought Norwich were terrific today, especially in the first half, their fans were superb, cheering them on and I thought we did really well to hang on but it was like the Alamo at times and we had to ride our luck on occasions but that's four points out of six now and I'm pretty happy with that.

Ugly performance
"It was an ugly performance from us and we didn't pass the ball nearly as well as we can but the players I had out there showed a lot of grit and determination.

"We got out of jail today and Norwich will feel frustrated but that's life at times."
