Iain Dowie has admitted that he is in the market for players this month but insists that the summer remains the best time for rebuilding his squad.

The Sky Blues currently sit 15th in the Championship, but are only six points behind sixth placed Plymouth meaning that a successful second-half to the season could yet see them enter the play-off picture.

With the future of the club now secure after the recent Sisu consortium takeover, Dowie can begin to make plans for the future and may yet delve into the transfer market during the current window.

Competitive

"There is no question I would like to strengthen the team this month and we will see how that goes," he said.

"We want to get back in there and push on and it is very important we address the rest of the season with real verve and vigour.

"With the squad we have got we have been very competitive and with one or two additions maybe we will be even better than that in the second-half of the season.

Scouting

"It is difficult at this time because those good players that are about for loans, particularly from the bigger clubs, those clubs are reluctant to let their players out because of the Champions League.

"We will keep doing our research though and keep scouting games, which is very important.

"There are a couple of different avenues we can look at across the broad spectrum with some young talent as well.

"The information is in the pot and it is just about getting them over the line.

Quality

"But maybe it is the summer when we do the full restructure. We have got a lot of players, maybe 11 or 12, out of contract.

"I am well aware where we want to strengthen with four, five or maybe six players, and I mean quality players. So that will mean a lot of people will come and go."
