Denmark international Lars Jacobsen remains on the radar of French giants Marseille.

The 28-year-old full-back was released by German side FC Nuremberg following their relegation from the Bundesliga last season and is currently considering his options.

Jacobsen's availability has attracted the attention of Marseille, although coach Eric Gerets must first make room in his squad.

"Marseille are interested, but no decision has been made yet," his agent John Sivebaek told BT.

"The situation remains the same, the club still needs to sell a player before they can eventually sign Lars. I believe we will know more after the friendly."

Jacobsen is aiming to put himself in the shop window with a strong performance in Denmark's friendly against Spain on Wednesday.

"I really need this match," he told Ekstra Bladet.

"I want to prove my worth that I am someone to invest in for a new club, although it's my first friendly (this season)."
