Rhinos on the charge

Rhinos on the charge

Jamie Jones-Buchanan on the burst

Saints have started sluggishly, the Bulls are stumbling, Hull are injury-ridden and Wigan are unbeaten but have failed to impress.

So far it is the Rhinos who have outshone the rest of the Super League, with three straight wins and a hugely impressive performance at Wakefield on Friday night.

Are the champions set to leave everyone trailing in their wake? Will the usual suspects regroup to mount a challenge? Or will a new challenger emerge in what is looking a very open competition?

Share your thoughts on the early skirmishes in the battle for Super League XIII.

Re Andersons comments about referees perhaps he would like Steve Ganson all the time now the residency rules have been scrapped because he gave St. Helens the decision twice on Friday once disallowing a Wigan try and giving a Wellens try He should concentrate on finding out why his team get in the position of winning or losing by a couple of points Back to refs in my opinion the residency decision is a joke in a 50 50 situation its human nature to go with your home town team

I watched the world club challenge on friday night and as an avid league fan was delighted to see the rhinos win against a fantastic melbourne team. It would have been nice for stevo and eddie to have spent a bit more time celebrating leeds and the british game's success, at times in the commentary you would have thought they wanted melbourne to win. Fair play to melbourne they played their part in an absorbing game but leeds were worthy winners keeping melbourne scoreless in the second half, a point which was not picked up by the commentary team. Despite this minor point I think the guys do a great job at showcasing the best game in the world.

Leeds have got off to a thunderous start this season, grabbing maximum points. The first half against Wakefield was unbelievable. The ruthlessness in attack and defence was great to see. In particular the form of Ellis and Peacock is pleasing. However, at the start of the season given our opening fixtures any Rhino fan would have been disappointed not to have 6 points now. It is too early to write off Saints, and I think the Wire are looking good also despite what happended on Friday night. Saints lost a few matches early on last year and still topped the league at the end of the regular rounds.

Leeds are looking good but it is early days. Bit too early for this debate? But at least the Greatest Game is getting some publicity. Crowds are up big-time, the standard of play is superb already (Saints-Wire was a classic last night). As for a challenger from outside the usual suspects, I really think Rovers will go well this season. The win over Saints was a shock, but no fluke. Go Robins!

Fantastic start by Leeds but it's a marathon not a sprint, I really think that McClennan couldn't have had a better impact this early. There's fire in defence and the skills are flowing in attack. There's plenty of improvement left in us, but that could be said about every other club in the league, and I write NO-ONE off this early - trophies aren't given out after week 3. So there's a hell of a long way to go and the usual suspects will be there or thereabouts along with Wire, Giants and Wakey(even though we battered them).

I am delighted with the way the Rhinos have started the season. I have watched all three games and been very impressed. I think Brian McClennan has brought something extra and there is definitely an added fizz to the play. However, if Super League has taught us one thing down the years it is that the season has so many twists and turns. I remember a couple of years ago Bradford got thrashed at home to Saints, were written off and went on to win the Grand Final. It's great to be going well now, but the key is to peak for the play-offs.
