Les Catalans have taken the unusual step of appointing three captains for the coming Super League campaign.

Coach Mick Potter is distributing the responsibility by appointing front row forwards Jerome Guisset and Alex Chan as joint club captains, but Australian stand-off Casey McGuire will be the team's leader on the field.

"Jerome and Alex are our club captains but they won't be on the field for 80 minutes," explained Potter.

"Casey will captain us on the field and he's going to steer us around the park but we won't overload him with all the other commitments."

The move comes following the retirement of New Zealander Stacey Jones, who led the Dragons in their first two years of Super League.

McGuire, the former Brisbane Broncos stand-off, has also taken over Jones' scrum-half role, with French international Thomas Bosc taking over the number six jersey.

The new half-back pairing was in action on Saturday night as the Dragons beat the French Federation 48-24 in their only pre-season friendly in Perpignan.

Winger Younes Khattabi and second rower Cyril Gossard scored two tries apiece while McGuire, Clint Greenshields, Adam Mogg, David Ferriol and Bosc also crossed - the latter kicking six goals.
