Quotes of the week
Chev Walker insists there will be no split loyalties when he returns to Leeds with Hull KR on Saturday.
The 24-year-old Great Britain centre joined the Robins in time for Super League XIII after failing to settle with rugby union side Bath.
As he prepares to return to Headingley, where he scored 77 tries in 161 Super League appearances from 1999 to 2006, Walker admits to being a little apprehensive.
But if the Great Britain centre recovers from his hamstring injury he does not expect there to be any doubt about his commitment to the Robins' cause.
"It will be a bit strange but it should be good," he said. "I've stayed in touch with my mates at Leeds. I love the place. I've been at Leeds since I was a kid and used to climb over the wall to watch them.
"I was a ball boy and then played for them so obviously I have strong roots but I'm at Hull KR now and I'll be working as hard as I can to beat Leeds.
"I'm really desperate to play but I need to be smart about it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll be playing."
Walker is one of 10 new signings at Craven Park this season and he admits coach Justin Morgan's ambition was a big draw to the club.
"I met Justin Morgan and had a good chat with him. I saw where he was trying to take the club and I saw the players that he was bringing in and I felt it was right for me," he added.
"The top six is in everyone's mind. Super League is going to be tight and anyone can get into the six.
"It's definitely at the back of our minds but it's not the most important thing. The most important thing is to gel and produce consistent performances."
Rovers warmed up for the clash against the Super League champions with a 22-10 victory over Castleford Tigers on Sunday.
