Bradford Bulls have secured the services of Michael Platt until the end of the 2011 season after he signed a new three-year contract with the club.

The 24-year-old full-back, who signed from Castleford in 2006, has scored 15 tries in 34 matches with the Super League outfit.

But he has been unable to hold down a place in the side since pulling his hamstring against Catalans Dragons in March.

Platt expressed his delight at the faith the Bulls are showing in him, especially as he has only featured once since his setback due to the outstanding performances of Dave Halley.

"I'm delighted to be staying at Bradford for another three years and I think I've improved while I've been here," he said.

"I've still got a lot to do but the club has shown a lot of faith in me by giving me a deal that long.

"When I signed here I knew I was coming to one of the top clubs and that's where all players want to do their stuff."

Bulls coach Steve McNamara said: "I am delighted we have been able to keep Michael at the club and I am very pleased with the progress he has made since he joined us.

"He is an outstanding athlete and is developing into a very good full-back."
