Harlequins Rugby League prop Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook is well on the way to recovery just two months after badly breaking his wrist.

McCarthy-Scarsbrook was initially predicted to be sidelined for four months after sustaining the injury during Harlequins RL's Super League round six clash with Leeds Rhinos in mid-March.

But, the Londoner was given the go ahead to begin light training this week after undergoing surgery to remove the pins that had been inserted into his arm following the break.

Harlequins Rugby League Head Physiotherapist Todd Williams said on Friday that the 22-year-old would start taking part in training sessions involving ball work and could return to full action within a month.

"It is still difficult to put a time frame on how long it will be until Louie can start playing again," he said.

"But if he continues healing the way he has so far it may be as soon four weeks.

"Now he's had the operation he'll be able to get more involved with the rest of the team at training.

"He'll start with joining in some skills sessions and gradually work into contact."
