Huddersfield have handed prop forward Keith Mason a new contract.

The deal means the 26-year-old will remain at the Galpharm Stadium until the end of the 2011 season.

However, the former St Helens player is not thinking too much about the long-term future, instead focusing on finishing the current campaign on a high.

After reaching the play-offs last year the Giants have struggled in 2008 and find themselves sitting second from bottom.

"It's great, I enjoy every minute of it here and I was delighted when the club offered me a deal until the end of 2011," he said.

"This place has just got so much going for it. As far as I'm concerned though, the main priority right now is making sure we finish this season strongly.

"Nobody is happy with the way things have gone this year, most of all the players, and we're desperate to do what we can to make sure we get some good wins under our belt between now and the end of the year."
