Motherwell have clinched the signing of John Sutton from Wycombe on a free transfer.

Sutton has inked a three-year deal at Fir Park after passing a medical and agreeing personal terms.

The 24-year-old has decided to move on after being told by Wycombe boss Peter Taylor he did not figure in his plans.

Well boss Mark McGhee has moved to lure the former St Mirren hit-man back to Scotland and Sutton is looking forward to playing in the SPL again.

Happy

"I am looking forward to getting back playing in the SPL" Sutton told the club's official website.

"I've always enjoyed my spells in Scotland and have usually done not too bad. The teams I've played with have always tried to play good football and Motherwell are no different. The SPL is a great league with every week being a real test.

"Europe is also massive for us - as I understand it, if we win one tie we'll be in the group stages and could play against some massive clubs so I am really looking forward to that.

"I want to come here, score goals, and help us get there again."

Meanwhile, Leon Knight has also left Wycombe after cancelling his contract by mutual consent
