Cardiff City have handed a trial to Nigeria international Wilson Oruma as Dave Jones looks for a new midfielder.

Oruma is currently a free agent after being released by Marseille at the end of last season following three years at Stade Velodrome.

The 31-year-old linked up with Cardiff earlier this week and featured in Tuesday's friendly against non-league Chasetown.

He was given 73 minutes to press his claims to Jones and scored Cardiff's second goal in the 2-2 draw with a stunning strike.

The game with Chasetown also marked Jay Bothroyd's first appearance for Cardiff following his move from Wolves.
