Ross Wallace has admitted he would be interested in securing a permanent move to Preston.

The midfielder is currently on loan at Deepdale from Sunderland after agreeing a season-long switch in the summer.

The 23-year-old was transfer listed by the Black Cats in January but Roy Keane is no longer at the Stadium of Light.

A new Sunderland manager has yet to be appointed, with Ricky Sbragia only in caretaker charge, and Wallace's future appears uncertain.

However, he is enjoying life at Preston and hopes to join on a long-term deal.

"Sunderland can call me back in January and we will see from there really," Wallace told Preston's official website.

"Hopefully we can get something sorted in January, contract-wise, and we will take it from there.

"Sunderland have got the opportunity to bring me back and Preston have got the opportunity to buy me in January.

"Hopefully the two clubs can come to some sort of agreement because I am enjoying it here and playing in games and we have got a half-decent team."
