Simply put - the champions should, for the sake of the sport, the team who wins the most games and scores the most goals, not the team who loses the least....

Buku Duku's comments about the saying about never counting your chickens before they are hatched is quite comical because no where did any Man United player or staff member say its in the bag but on the contrary its the Chelsea staff and players and even fans who think that their game is in the bag where as they fail to remember the 1-1 draw vs Wigan at HOME...my point is that Chelsea are the ones everyone should be worrying about...no one (press, fans, players, staff) seems to mention Bolton but are some how addicted and obsessed with Wigan...Chelsea in my opinion are in the same level as Man United so I really don't understand why it is United's title to lose if Chelsea themselves haven't won their game yet?

If Chelsea win anything this year i believe it will be tainted. In my opinion the Premier League should have been over and done 2 weeks ago.But for several wrong or decisions by match officials Chelsea should have dropped 2 points when they played Man. Utd.Also an another team that was subject to biased officiating was Newcaslte, tied game mins to go Chelsea score, despite being offside but at least a 6 feet the referee looked at the linesman and allowed the goal, just like the penalty call against United. How about the "non call" when Ballack moves his arm to stop a Liverpool shot in the box !.Three biased and wrong decsions by officials yes just three gave Chelsea + 4 points in the League and a trip to the European Cup Final. Ofcourse no one wants to talk about this now that all history. But I was really incensed when linesman for whatever reason denied Newcastle their deserved tie against Chelsea, and thought I wonder if this will make a difference at the end of the season.I seriously think that all games in the major leagues should be reviewed by an unbiased panel and officials that make these clearly biased calls should be investigated.Anyone thinking this is silly ???,they did it in Italy, the Premier League and European Cup are momentus competitions and success is worth many millions. Also if any unbiased neutral fan is reading this check the highlights of games I mentioned and you will see I am correct.

I think whoever lifts the title on Sunday will have the edge over the other team and go on to lift the Champions League. I really hope it's United's goal difference that settles the title and shows Chelsea that you have to score goals to win trophies. But fair play to Chelsea they have battled well but they do not posses the strength to finish up as champions.

I think that Manchester United deserve to win the title as they have been the best team over the whole season. They have the best defence and attack and in Ronaldo, they have the player of the season. As for Avram's comments on a play-off for the league, well the league is a season of 38 games and United happen to have scored more goals and concided less then Chelsea, is it Utd's fault that his players took their foot of the peddle against the weaker sides and his defence had lapses in concentration. NO!!. Also if he wants to use other leagues ways of deciding the title then why not Spains where it's sorted out by head to head. I'll tell you why? because Utd won 2-0 at home but lost 2-1 away so Chelsea would lose again, on the basis of the overall score being 3-2 in Utd's favour.

You have to laugh at how pathetic certain Chelsea supporters and even Avram Grant are being with regard to the league. They are suggesting that there should be a play-off instead of winning or losing on goal difference. What a joke!..Arrogant idiots they are. They kind of miss the point a bit, the reason Man U have a far superior goal difference is the fact that they are a much more attacking team (most goals scored) and also that the Man U defence this year has been fantastic (least goals conceded), if the shoe was on the other foot those narrow minded Chelsea fools wouldn't be saying anything right now. The title should stay at Old Trafford, Man u have been the best team in the league this year without any doubt.

It's simple, United are winning the League. I don't say this to put Wigan down, as I think they will come out and make it difficult for us, but in these sorts of situations is when I think United turn the quality and gutso up. I think Chelsea will also win Bolton, so we'll win this due to superior goal difference...something I think neutrals have enjoyed watching this season. Hopefully, ole Stevie Coppell's lot; Reading, will stay up too. We don't need any favours from Ste Bruce, it'll all to come from the United Team. Roll on May 21st May and we can settle the Chelsea v Manu debate too...the penalty in the last few minutes was a disgrace.

I am a Chelsea fan but I just love to watch good football! Its been a great season for United and Chelsea and there is not a fag paper between them and it will all come out in the wash on the day. All I would say is that we are all different and all have different personalities and I hope Grant will be judged on his results and nothing else!

I am a very fair man when it comes to football, as a man utd fan i really feel this season they do deserve to win the title, sure they have had a couple of bad performances but apart from that there football has been exciting and a joy to watch, where as chelsea have been so boring this year, hence when chelsea fans booed the chelsea players at wigan for there boring efforts man utd on there bestday can beat anyone so its up to them to win the title. i have every confdence in man utd and hope they win the title

All this over-blown hype about Wigan being 'up for it'! If this game was being played mid-season nobody would imagine in their wildest dreams that Man U would have a problem with it. I'm not sure that this season's Chelsea would be so super confident against anybody, but yes, it would still be in their favour. Do I hear the word PRESSURE being bandied about? That's what these players live for - and if they don't they are really in the wrong job. The fact that Avram Grant is cpouting about a play-off means that he is well aware that his side and United will win tomorrow but it will be meaningless for Chelsea - as was their defeat of United at Stamford Bridge. I think it's true to say that this has probably been the most unsettled season since the Premier league began with none of the top three (sorry Liverpool but you were never contenders) showing the sort of consistenccy we've seen in previous seasons. It certainly makes for a more exciting contest, especially for neutrals. Keep up the good work boys and Man U to win!!!

At the top, both teams will win. United because they are a good side, Chelsea because they will bore their opposition into submission. But United win the title. Despite being a Liverpool fan, I have to say that they deserve it. Chelsea's brand of football is just dreadful and it would be terrible if a boring team like that won the title. It would be as undeserved as if we won the title with Gerard Houllier. His style of football was terrible too.

Football is Football - Nobody can predict what will happen. On any other weekend both Chelsea and Man U would go and bag 3 points with no questions asked but with this amount of pressure it's very different, I read Karl Dammer (Man U) fan saying these are the games that Man U thrive on?what about all the Champions League Semi finals you've fluffed? Aren't they big games? Make no mistake - it's not over until the full time whistles have blown and without sounding too much like Kevin Keegan, I will love it if we beat them. Come on Chels!!!

I just want to pick up on Mr Buku Duku and his ridiculous comment about Anderson being better than Scholes. I haven't laughed so much in years! Anderson is a fine player but Scholes is the best player England have produced in the last 20 years.

Firstly, being a Manchester United fan all my life that nothing is ever handed to you on a plate and Steve Bruce and Wigan will not allow us just to turn up and roll over them even with the status Bruce has at United he is not that type of person. Secondly, many Chelsea fans and players ad Avram Grant are saying ''the pressure is on us'' and that ''we will crack'' I hope that all the Chelsea fans are seriously not deluded we will on Sunday and be crowned champions of England but it will not be as simple as that. the Chelsea camp are just saying that because they know the inevitable fate. So Could all the Chelsea fans and players please wake and and realise that we have been the best team in the country and played the best football and without a shadow of a doubt deserve the league.

As much as it hurts me to say , I think Utd will win the league this year . They have played the best football and they have scraped points when they needed them . This is the form of champions . They are going to Wigan who will , Lets face it already be thinking about what number sun factor to pack in their case for their hols . One thing that gets to me though is the thought that Liverpool have lost fewer games than Utd . We are closer this year and i think honestly we Will be genuine contenders next year . As for the champions league final , Chelsea will stun Utd who think its already in the bag 2-0 Lampard & Terry scoring !!

Fergus Haverty (Manchester United fan) says...
Chelsea hope that Wigan do them a favour but I can't see it happening. As a Utd fan first, I'd expect Utd to beat Wigan home & away everytime. That's not knocking Wigan, Utd are the champions and have more quality everywhere on the pitch. Secondly and trying to look at it from an impartial point of view, I can't imagine Utd will allow Wigan to get the better of them. A pumped up Utd with basically their first 11 on the pitch who will be fired up to put the match beyond doubt as quickly as possible. You would back Utd against any team with the players they have available and whats at stake. Of course there is pressure because Utd have alot to lose. However, Fergie is going for his 10th title so he has seen it all before in terms of pressure and how to prepare a team to go out and win the league. It's hopeful dreams more then anything to suggest that Wigan will rise above all that and take something from Utd. Looking at who could go down, I think Derby will get a draw out of Reading and Fulham could draw with Portsmouth. Portsmouth have their eye on next week but it's still Portsmouth at home which isn't easy so it might be a step too far for Fulham. I felt at the time that sacking Chris Coleman was an error and that appointing Lawrie Sanchez was an even bigger error as he was very inexperienced at club management level. If Roy Hodgson was put in straight away, they would be safe.

Karl Dammer (Manchester United fan) says...
Well, I think the closeness is vastly exagerrated myself. United at near full strength going to Wigan needing a win for the title against a tired Wigan side with nothing to play for. Sorry, but pride just wont be enough. I fully expect United to kill them off first half with the kind of tenacity and verve we can deliver on our game. United will close down hard, tackle harder and drive at Wigan so forecfully they wont be able to live with us. United rarely falter when we need a win, historically thats when we deliver. If we needed a draw or had some space to breathe, you might see us take it easy and slip, but knowing whats at stake I just think you will United hungry, pressuring and clinical. I dont think Chelsea will win either. If its 0-0 half time and they see United leadin g 2, 3-0 at half time they will know its over. In truth I think in their hearts deep down, they know its over anyway. Obviously I hope im right, but if I know United we will come out like a storm against poor Wigan and kill them before they get a chance to settle back. Should be a great day, but anyone doubting United should remeber its crunch games like this that United have always thrived on, this is what we do, winning when everything is at stake.

Good luck to United on Sunday, they have been the best team in the league by a mile. Terry wants Wigan to do justice to the league and in some respects I agree, as I don't like certain teams who turn up against one side and not against others. However, that also means that Bolton need to do justice to the league and beat Chelsea the way they beat United and make sure the team most deserving win it. As for relegation, Birmingham are down and I'd like to see Reading stay up ahead of Fulham because Coppell's a great manager and Fulham have only decided to start playing in the last month. COME ON UNITED!
