Tottenham have confirmed that manager Juande Ramos has left the club.

Spurs have acted to axe the Spanish coach after their worst start to a league campaign in their history.

They have also confirmed that sporting director Damien Comolli and Ramos's number two Gus Poyet have left the club.

The announcement has now come less than 24 hours before their Premier League clash with Bolton, and they confirmed that Clive Allen and Alex Inglethorpe would be in charge for the clash.

The club statement read: "The club can announce that Damien Comolli, sporting Ddirector, Juande Ramos, head coach and first team coaches, Marcos Alvarez and Gus Poyet, have left the club, with immediate effect. We wish them well.

"Clive Allen, development squad coach, and Alex Inglethorpe, youth team Manager, will take charge for Sunday's League match against Bolton.

"An announcement will be made on First Team coaching staff in due course."

Ramos joined Spurs just two-days short of a year. Porstmouth manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed he will be succeeding Ramos.

Ramos is a very talented coach, but maybe he didn't pick the right approach for the english game and somehow didn't know how to properly connect with the young british players. The transfer dealings were not too succesful and propably Comolli was to blame for that in some extent. There was definately back luck also involved. But lets hope Redknapp can do his magic and restore the confidence and joy back into the squad. I'm personally hoping he will mentor the likes of Bale, Lennon, Bentley, Huddlestone and Gunter to their full potential.

No wonder it was coming but the big question is whether Harry gonna do the job for the Spurs. i got no objection sacking Ramos but my point is "were they right to sack Martin Jeol before the appoinment of Juande?" Harry will have the same squad as Juande who comically bought all those new players and selling those players in last summer. And i am pretty sure Juande along with Gus could not gel those bunch of new players into a cementing unit at all. The mistake was made by selling those players and buying all those new player and its not only the player caliber that gives you the success. As a manager you gotta have the quality to play them together and as far as my footballing knowledge goes there is no better manager than Jose Mourinho who can do it better. So just sacking Ramos is not the solution of the problem, i m really keen to see whether Harry is really good enough to manage and getting result with them. Its not only juande picked those players from different clubs and got those money from the owner MR. Levvy. Levvy had the asserative nodd for Juande's decisions. Juande himself was relatively new to the club. He himself needed time to settle down at Spurs which i belive he couldn't. The damage has all ready been done at the start of the season and all those Spurs fans should ask those questions to the owner Mr. Levvy. I believe he is somewhat responsible along with Juande, Gus, Damien Comolli and staffs for the horrific start of the season. Viewers those owners are getting away from everything very easily and its the right time for us to question those owner for their acts.

I can's beleive it to be honest. I was saying tottenham need something new but for me to go out, thinking they are doomed this season, and to come back and redknapp is the new manager is incredible. It was right for ramos to go, although getting rid of poyet was a big mistake. he knows the squad and helped put it together, and can translate for people who struggle with the lingo. That's the only drawback for tottenham. I hope redknapp does well as i msure he will, after building a fantastic team at portsmouth i cant even begin to think how they'll cope without him.

This is so pathetic. We spend huge amounts of energy and money to get the manager we want, and then sack him after 8 games. I am sickened and disgusted and ashamed to be a fan of a club like this - I might as well start supporting Newcastle. Doesn't anybody at White Hart Lane realise that the most successful premiership managers have all been there for many many years?? Does nobody there understand the concept of thinking about the long-term? Doesn't anyone ask whether Ramos coule really have suddenly gone from being one of the best managers in Europe to being not good enough for a team that's never qualified for the Champions league? But even worse - Harry Redknapp :( I've nothing against him, but he's good at getting the best out of average players. Spurs can buy and have some great players. Ramos would have turned them into title-contenders. Will Harry be able to? I doubt it?

My word, Harry Redknapp talking like he's doing Portsmouth a favour... Harry - money talks and you talk as much nonsense as evey other person in football! You dont need the money but what more this season are Spurs going to do compared to YOUR team Pompey - nothing!!! Harry plays the savour, what a genuine guy... I support Boro but listening to someone like you spowt the usual nonense makes me so mad! "I went back to Pompey because I love them" - your as bad as the players Harry!!!

It's unfortunate that it didn't work out for Ramos.. he's had to deal with major changes in personnel at the club in a few months.. i wonder if Redknapp will bring some P'smouth players with him? Defoe to return in Jan?..

Its about time Ramos & Comolli went. With everyone saying Ramos needs time, you cant afford time in the Priemier League. Sad to see Poyet go, as I thought he did wel for us as a coach & did well handling the media . Also Alveraz shouldnt of left either, due to him keeping all of the player's fit & healthy, and he did well with that responsibility. Not sure about Redknapp as manager tho, it just doesnt fell right , i think he whould of been better off at Portsmouth in my opinion, but you never know what could happen ;)
