Wenger: Worries over Diaby and Eboue
We have our ambition; we want to win all our games. We do not look at the results of Aston Villa.
Arsene Wenger
Quotes of the week
Arsene Wenger insists Arsenal are not concerned by the results of Aston Villa after failing to capitalise in the battle for a place in the UEFA Champions League.
The Gunners continue to lie five points behind their fourth-placed Premier League rivals as both sides were held to respective goalless home draws on Saturday, against West Ham and Wigan.
Wenger admits that Arsenal dropped points but insists his side are concentrating on their own results, rather than keeping an eye on the fortunes of rivals.
"I look at today as two missed points," Wenger told Sky Sports.
"We have our ambition; we want to win all our games. We do not look at the results of Aston Villa.
"We gave everything and defended well as a team but we faced a team that also defended well.
"We were restricted. We tried until the end and went close a few times, but it didn't come off.
"It is a derby and you see they (West Ham) have good confidence at the moment and are on a good run.
"We tried very well, but just lacked a little creativity and sharpness."
Arsenal dominated London rivals West Ham from start to finish in the north of the capital, but failed to produce genuine clear-cut chances.
That lack of creativity has increased demands among fans for the signing of Russia playmaker Andrei Arshavin, with Monday's winter transfer deadline rapidly approaching.
Wenger, though, maintains that there has been no development in discussions with Zenit St Petersburg regarding their star asset.
When asked about Arshavin, Wenger added: "No, no news."
Meanwhile, midfield duo Abou Diaby and Emmanuel Eboue were both forced off through injury during the 90 minutes.
Wenger expects it to be two days before the extent of the problems are known, but fears Diaby could be the more serious setback.
"We will see how he (Diaby) will be in the next 48 hours, but he does not look too good," said the Frenchman.
"Eboue had a knock on his thigh, if there is any muscular damage we will know in the next 48 hours."
