Skysports.com understands Everton are considering a bid to bring Caen teenager Yroundu Musavu-King to Goodison Park in January.
The promising defender has yet to establish himself in Caen's first-team plans in Ligue 1 and is part of the club's reserve set-up.
However, it is understood the 19-year-old has caught the eye of Everton scouts and the Premier League club are weighing up a New Year swoop.
Everton boss David Moyes is short on transfer funds on Merseyside and was one of the quietest managers during the summer transfer window.
Moyes has experienced success when scouring the continent for bargains, though, with Apostolos Vellios the latest to make an impact.
The Greek striker joined the Toffees in January and scored his first goal for the club as a substitute in the recent home win over Wigan Athletic.
