Fit-again Aaron Lennon has handed Tottenham a timely boost ahead of their clash with Real Madrid.

The England winger missed Spurs' 4-0 hammering at Santiago Bernabeu last week, in the first leg of an eagerly-anticipated UEFA Champions League quarter-final.

Lennon was ruled out of that contest just minutes before kick-off, with it apparent that an illness had drained him of his energy.

The same problem kept the tricky playmaker out of a Premier League date with Stoke on Saturday, which Spurs won 3-2.

He has, however, finally shaken off the ailment and trained as usual with his team-mates on Tuesday.

Lively

Lennon looked lively throughout the session, as Harry Redknapp fine-tuned his plans for a return meeting with Real on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old is expected to be drafted back into the fold in midweek, along with Steven Pienaar, who also came through training unscathed following a recent groin problem.

Croatian duo Vedran Corluka (ankle) and Niko Kranjcar (foot) were absent, though, and both are serious doubts for what promises to be an enthralling evening at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham know they have a mountain to climb in order to prolong their European adventure, but they have already enjoyed a number of memorable nights on home soil this season and will be hoping another one can help them claim a prized scalp.
