Skysports.com understands Fulham are weighing up a move for Tottenham winger David Bentley.

Bentley appears to be surplus to requirements at White Hart Lane with the England international spending the second half of last season on loan at Birmingham City.

Spurs are thought to be open to offers for Bentley as Harry Redknapp looks to trim his squad and bring in funds for his own transfer plans.

Bentley, who joined Spurs from Blackburn in the summer of 2008, has struggled to hold down a regular place in the team under Redknapp with Aaron Lennon preferred on the right side of midfield.

Fulham have held a long-term interest in Bentley and new Cottagers boss Martin Jol is ready to pursue a move for the talented wide man.

Jol is keen to bolster his attacking options and he sees Bentley as the right man to provide the ammunition for the likes of Bobby Zamora.
