Nigerian striker looking forward to working with Kean

Yakubu admits he cannot wait to get going at Blackburn, with a move from Everton set to be rubber-stamped. Sky Sports sources revealed earlier on transfer deadline day that the Nigerian was on his way to Ewood Park. Yakubu is set to leave Goodison Park after slipping down the pecking order under David Moyes. He is now close to completing a switch to Rovers and is looking forward to opening a new chapter in his career. "It's a good club," Yakubu told Sky Sports News HD. "If you look at the history of the club, I think for me to be here is really, really great. "I am looking forward to playing and helping the team get points and stay in the Premier League." Yakubu claims he is also looking forward to working under Blackburn boss Steve Kean. He added: "I have met him already and he is a great manager. "For me to be here today, without him I don't think I would be here. I have to give credit to the manager and he was the one that made me come to this place. Being here is great."
