Crystal Palace have unveiled plans to move to a new ground, which could scupper Tottenham's bid to move to the Olympic stadium.
The struggling Championship outfit announced details of the proposed move on Thursday, which would see the Eagles turn the National Sports Centre at Crystal Palace into a 40,000-seater stadium.
Possible relocation was mooted when CPFC2010 took over the club last summer and the Eagles' co-chairman Steve Parish has confirmed he wants to sell their current Selhurst Park ground and take the club back 'home'.
As well as the stadium, the plan is also to provide an indoor aquatic centre, reconfigured indoor sports complex within the existing structure and a new community athletics facility.
Parish told the club's official website: "We are delighted to put forward our plans to return the club home to where it all began.
"We believe a stadium at Crystal Palace park can help create a bright new future for the club as well as helping it to breathe new life into both the sports centre and the park."
However, the proposals could impact on Tottenham's efforts to become the tenants of the Olympic stadium following the 2012 Games.
Spurs do not intend to keep the running track at the Stratford arena so proposed to redevelop the NSC as an athletics stadium as part of their bid, while bidding rivals West Ham plan to keep the track.
Ed Warner, chairman of UK Athletics, said: "On the proviso that the Olympic stadium retains its athletics track and any redevelopment of Crystal Palace maintains a community athletics facility on or nearby the park, we would be supportive of the plans of Crystal Palace."
A decision on the final bid for the Olympic stadium is expected at the end of next week.
