Paul Lambert bemoaned Norwich's loss to West Brom, insisting they are not getting what they deserve.

The Canaries lost 1-0 at Carrow Road on Sunday thanks to an early goal from Peter Odemwingie.

Norwich are now without a win since promotion from the Championship, but Lambert cannot fault the effort of his side.

"At the minute we are getting punished when we are playing well which is frustrating but the effort and commitment is there, I can't complain about the lads," Lambert told Sky Sports.

"But you can't start the game and be down within two minutes. We gave them something to hang on to.

"We should have done better with the goal, you make mistakes you get punished but I can't fault the lads because I don't believe we deserved to lose but we did.

"The game is about winning but effort wise and the way we are performing I am happy with.

"We just pick ourselves up and go again, we will pick ourselves up and bounce back strongly."

One major point of controversy was a late elbow from Gabriel Tamas on James Vaughan in the box, and Lambert insists they should have had a spot-kick.

"I have seen it like everyone else and I think it is a penalty and the referee will see that and think it was a real bad one, if you look at it," he said.
