Martin O'Neill is the early 6/1 favourite with Sky Bet to be named next Nottingham Forest manager after Steve McClaren resigned on Sunday evening.
The former England manager had suffered a torrid time at the Championship side since joining in the summer and Forest, who are without a home league win, now sit just a point above the relegation zone after a 3-1 defeat to Birmingham.
Former players Stuart Pearce and Roy Keane are also in the running to replace McClaren at 8/1, with former West Ham and Charlton chief Alan Curbishley also available at the same price.
McClaren's first team coach Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is 10/1 to get the nod, while Derby manager Nigel Clough is 20/1 and take charge at the City Ground.
Sky Bet's Jonathan Witty said: "The early money has all been for Martin O'Neill and he seems to be the man the supporters want.
"Whether the club can afford him remains to be seen, but Pearce and Keane are also proving popular as they were tremendous players for the club."
He added: "Another former player linked with the position is Nigel Clough, who is enjoying a great campaign at Derby and it would be a remarkable story if he followed in his father's footsteps and managed Forest."
