Bristol Rovers assistant boss John Still has left the Nationwide Division Three side.
Still had been with The Pirates for 18 months, but financial considerations meant that the club were forced to let Ray Graydon's right-hand man go.
Pirates chairman Geoff Dunford confirmed that it was a blow to lose Still.
"It is unfortunate that John has left as he was an asset to the club and a true gentleman," Dunford told the club's official website.
"But these things happen in football, even to the nice guys.
"Revenue is so important and we have not generated any additional income from cup competitions, and our gates have dipped below this season's forecast.
"Our management and playing budget is in excess of the figure set by the board at the start of the season and we cannot allow that to continue."
Meanwhile, The Pirates have handed trials to two players, who will appear in the club's reserve side on Tuesday evening.
Former Darlington midfielder Richard Hodgson and Slough Town striker Tony Boot will hope to impress Rovers' reserve boss Phil Bater this week, having trained with the squad on Monday.
24-year-old Hodgson has been playing Conference football this season with Farnborough Town following his release from The Quakers last summer.
23-year-old Boot was unsuccessful with a summer trial at Colchester United and will for better fortune with the West Country outfit.
