Skysports.com understands Peterborough have agreed a deal to sign Daniel Kearns from Dundalk.

The 19-year-old has been tracked by Posh for some time and they have moved to head off reported interest from Scottish giants Celtic.

Kearns impressed against the Hoops in the Dublin Super Cup last month which raised his profile further.

Delighted

Darren Ferguson is a known fan of the youngster and will be delighted that the former West Ham trainee has moved closer to joining Posh.

The attacking midfielder will be a welcome addition to Posh's squad who have made a good start to the Championship.

Dundalk will be loath to lose the talented youngster but he will be out of contract later in the year and they appear set to cash in now.
