GRIMSBY TOWN have offered Greg Young a permanent deal at Blundell Park.

Young had been at Grimsby all of last season training and playing for free after being released by Sheffield Wednesday last summer.

Mariners boss Paul Groves has been impressed by Young's progress and has decided to sign him up.

"Greg has improved since he arrived at the club. He did well on his debut at Reading, but it did show that there is a big step up from the reserves for him to make," Groves told the club's official website.

"We will be looking for Greg to continue the learning curve."
