Dennis Oiliech was the star of the weekend netting three times in under 15 minutes for Auxerre, moving them up to ninth.
Honours were even in the other two fixtures in Ligue 1 as Brest and Ajaccio remain rooted to the foot of the table.
Rennes and St Etienne could also only manage a score draw in the Sunday night game.
Auxerre moved up to ninth in Ligue 1 crushing Sochaux 4-1 in a week that has seen them concede 10 times
Sochaux looked to have banished the memory of their defeat against Rennes when they took a second-minute lead through Modibo Maiga.
But Alain Traore's equaliser six minutes after the break triggered a second half collapse that saw Dennis Oiliech register a 15-minute hat-trick to stun Sochaux and push his side into 11th place.
Sochaux started brightly with Maiga scoring inside 120 seconds when he converted after Yassin Mikari gained possession when Willy Boly failed to clear Teddy Richert's punt down field.
The visitors were broken down six minutes after the restart when their defence failed to deal with Oliech's cross and Traore cashed in his sixth of the season.
Sochaux conceded again inside a minute as Kamel Chafni put Oliech through and the Kenyan touched beyond the advancing Richert.
Oliech found himself clear again and, although Richert kept out his first effort, the goal was unguarded on the rebound and Oliech made no mistake.
Traore then found Oliech in the area with a defence-splitting pass and he did the rest, wrapping up his treble with his left foot.
Sochaux then steadied the ship and reached full-time without conceding again. The win moves Auxerre up to 9th.
At the foot of the table Brest and Ajaccio find themselves in an early relegation battle, a point not doing either team much good.
Brest took the lead after an hour with a headed goal from Nolan Roux following a corner. Roux directed a low header into the bottom left corner beating the Ajacco number one.
Brest could only keep the lead for five minutes and conceded from Richard Socrier's right foot shot from inside the box.
Both teams now find themselves on six points along with Nice and Valenciennes.
The Sunday night game saw Rennes at home to St Etienne with new signing Max Gradel.
Rennes opened the scoring just before half-time as Youssouf Hadji shot low with his right foot from inside the box.
Saint-Etienne levelled the score in the 56th minute when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang headed in from point blank range from Fabien Lemoine's cross.
Rennes had a late chance to grab the points in the 89 minute but Yann M'vila pulled his shot wide. The draw means Rennes stay fifth and St Etienne move up to 11th.
