Paris St Germain overcame Lyon in Sunday's top-of-the-table clash in Ligue 1, while Lille beat Rennes and Marseille drew with Brest.
PSG and Lyon were neck-and-neck at the summit ahead of their clash at the Parc des Princes, but the capital club won 2-0 on home soil to open up a three-point advantage.
There were no goals in the first half but PSG finally managed to break through in the 64th minute courtesy of big-money summer signing Javier Pastore.
Lyon battled hard in an effort to get back into the game but could not find an equaliser and substitute Christophe Jallet notched a second for the hosts just before the final whistle.

Lille ended their run of three straight Ligue 1 draws with a 2-0 win over Rennes at the Stadium Lille Metropole.
Moussa Sow put the hosts into the lead in the seventh minute when he pounced on a rebound from Joe Cole's shot before Florent Balmont sealed the win with a strike from close range just after the half-hour mark.
The result moves Lille into fifth in the table, leapfrogging Rennes, who are now in seventh.
Struggling Marseille clung on for a barely-deserved point, denying Brest a first win of the Ligue 1 season in a 1-1 draw.
Romain Poyet gave the visitors an early lead, which was cancelled out in the 20th minute by Andre Ayew.
